Artist spotlights

1st Place

Artist Spotlight: David James Glass 🎨

@[object Object]

We are beyond stoked to welcome @davidjamesglass to the May the Terps Talk family!

The Trophy Details 🏆

This piece stands as a monumental tribute to a quarter-century of fire, breath, and precision. Crafted by David James, a master who has spent 25 years perfecting the art of melting glass, this trophy embodies a rare artistic gravitas that only decades of dedication can produce.

David’s work is defined by a presence that commands respect—a style that is as powerful as it is disciplined. This trophy highlights his mastery of Inside Out Decor, a sophisticated technique that creates deep, multi-dimensional visual landscapes within the glass itself.

True to his reputation for excellence, this is heavy-duty, American-made glass, built with a refined weight and a unique, formidable spirit. It is a distinct honor to have such a legendary craftsman on board to mark this occasion.

2nd Place

Artist Spotlight: @TheBoroFlorist & @SnoopysGlassWorks 🎨

@[object Object] · @[object Object]

We are beyond stoked to welcome @theboroflorist and @snoopysglassworks to the May the Terps Talk family!

We met this incredible glass-blowing couple up in Michigan a few years back and their work absolutely mesmerized us. At the Sungrown event this past December, we talked about getting them involved to create some amazing art for this year’s event, and we couldn't be happier to have them on board.

The Trophy Details 🏆

“May we present to you, the "From North to South" series, 2 trophies, 1 Sherlock for 2nd place flower and 1 dablock for 2nd place rosin.

Both pieces are adorned with a dogwood flower, to represent the state of Virginia where @jollypondfarm is from, and a trillium flower, to represent the province of Ontario, where I myself am from. Both pieces glow uv with the help of the color sour patch and pineapple parade. The florals all glow bright pink under uv light with a little help from the color sailor moon. Both pieces are hand crafted in our home studio and hand dremelled by Snoopy himself with my handwritten stencil.”

The Boro Florist

3rd Place

Artist Spotlight: Cozy Stoners 🎨

@[object Object]

We are beyond stoked to welcome @cozystoners to the May the Terps Talk family!

Catch her in person! She will be on-site vending on May 2nd. Be sure to come out, say hello, and witness the depth of her amazing wood working skills firsthand.

The Trophy Details 🏆

These wood-slice awards are handcrafted by Cozy Stoners using a blend of pyrography and mixed-media illustration. Each piece features custom lettering and botanical outlines scorched directly into the grain with a wood-burning tool, providing deep texture and permanent definition. To finish the look, vibrant colors and smooth gradients are layered in with alcohol-based markers, merging organic wood tones with a bold, modern aesthetic. The final result is a one-of-a-kind, rustic trophy that perfectly balances raw natural materials with precise, hand-drawn artistry. (Preview, Unfinished.. Come Check out the full Work Saturday)

4th Place

Artist Spotlight: Chris Wheeler — Klientel_art 🎨

@[object Object]

We are beyond stoked to welcome Chris (Klientel_art) to the May the Terps Talk family!

Chris is a master of the spray can, specializing in those vibrant, “oceana vibe” scenes that have captured our imagination for years. Whether it’s a massive mural or a focused canvas, his work brings a unique energy that feels like a breath of salt air.

Our history with Chris runs deep. Back in 2023, we collaborated to bring his signature style to our Limetta Marmalade seed card line, turning our packaging into a true piece of art. If you’ve spent any time exploring the Outer Banks of North Carolina, you’ve likely seen his work brightening up the coast.

This isn't his first rodeo with May the Terps Talk, either — Chris was the talent behind our incredible 3rd-place trophies last year.

5th Place

Artist Spotlight: Susan Dunn Art

Welcome Susan Dunn Art to May the Terps Talk.

Susan has created our 5th place trophies…

About

Susan is an artist with many talents; her primary focus is on large canvas landscape and portrait paintings. She painted Snarf for me several years back — my beloved water dog that passed away a few years ago. That portrait art is displayed on the seed card of “Snarfs Marmalade”.

Trophy details

From the artist… “I decided to create two mixed-media paintings for the trophies. I used color swatches to cut out pieces for the can leaves, piece by piece, with a box cutter. They became the focal points of the compositions with an essence of patchwork. These were affixed atop a surface of multiple, repetitively painted vibrant leaves in acrylic paint for the background. I finished with a coat of polymer medium to give a glossy and preservative finish.”

Size: 8.5in × 10.5in
